A fire destroyed a trailer home in Lecompton late this morning. Fire officials said they had the fire under control within an hour, but failed to save the home before it was gutted. Officials confirmed that an electrical shortage in the back bedroom caused the fire.
The Douglas County Aids Project, along with several campus organizations, sponsored a day of free HIV testing and information about HIV in honor of World AIDS day. Several students and community members took part in the event that was held at the Kansas Union.
