Kansans can put another drug on the state's list of banned substances. Lawrence residents looking for a special herb will now be out of luck. Governor Sebelius has recently signed a law that outlawed the herb salvia divinorum.

Stores like Persephone's Journey on 11th and Massachusettes used to sell the drug, but will now have to stop after it was banned this week. Kansas is one of nine states that have outlawed the drug.

The immediate effects of taking salvia are hallucinations and an increase in body heat. the drug was linked to the suicide of a Deleware teenager in 2006. More than 20 other states are considering benning the drug.
