The University of Kansas Jayhawks (36-3) defeated the University of North Carolina (36-3), 84-66, Saturday in the Final Four.
Kansas jumped out to an early 40-22 lead, but saw that advantage drop to 44-27 going into half-time. North Carolina cut the lead to four midway through the second half before a Sasha Kaun dunk and a Sherron Collins three-pointer gave the Jayhawks a comfortable lead.
Mario Chalmers and Collins each had 11 points and four rebounds for KU, while Brandon Rush led all scorers with 25 points. Cole Aldrich, KU freshman, added eight points and 7 rebounds in 17 minutes of action.
Wayne Ellington led all UNC scorers with 18 points, 13 of those came in the second half. All-American, Tyler Hansbrough, finished with 17 points and nine rebounds.
Kansas will take on Memphis in the championship game after the Tigers took out UCLA 78-63 in the early game. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. central time on Monday, April 7.
