The University of Kansas finds continuing success outside of athletics after strong showings in recent tournaments by the KU debate team.

The KU debate team starts the 2008 spring semester with a No. 1 ranking in the National Debate Tournament.

The National Debate Tournament, NDT, bases the varsity squad rankings on the overall performances at several tournaments during the month of January. The University leads schools including Harvard, Northwestern University and Wake Forest. Eight of the University's debate teams won awards at tournaments in January.
