By day, downtown Massachusetts Street provides a peaceful atmostphere. On sunny days customers dine outside, shop, and stroll the streets.

At night, however, the atmosphere changes dramatically.

However, Eileen Strong, manager of Aimee's Coffee House, 1025 Mass., welcomes the late-night patronage. Aimee's Coffee House is open 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Mon.-Sat.

"Those partiers, rowdy though they may be, are not necessarily bad for business," Strong said.

Strong also believes the late-night crowd adds to the dynamics that make Lawrence unique.

"I would not like to see it eliminated. It does get rowdier and yes, there is going to be a certain portion of a population who are going to hear about some rowdiness at night, (and) that might effect their opinion about things during the day," Strong said.

But, Strong does not think the recent events at The Granada will prevent people from visiting downtown Lawrence.
